Writing Projects

So, it looks like this year will be ending off with a bang and seeing a beautiful start to 2018. How so?

Writing of course.

First up is the National Novel Writing Month Challenge:

Or, as it is otherwise known as NaNoWriMo.

This is the first year I will be participating in this challenge which invites writers to complete a 50 000 word novel in a month. I am both scared and excited to be doing this. Scared because I originally intended to take this challenge next year when I had some of my story written or at least a first draft of it. But then I saw a quote that just made me say “Just do it.” And that quote was this:

I may not be new to writing but I am new to writing and having other people outside of some select friends reading my work and I am definitely new to submitting works to projects and challenges such as this. But, I read this quotation and I just had to take the leap. So, I will be writing my story for the month of November and I will be hoping that I will manage to get it finished. But, even if I don’t, there is always next year and it is all experience for me,  and getting my name out there one way or the other.

After NaNoWriMo is done, I will be participating in another project that I was given information on today.

It is entitled Twisted 3:

Now this one is something I am also very excited to write for. I absolutely love the idea of taking a fairytale and giving it a twist, whether it be horror, paranormal, fantasy or Dystopian. When I received the information for this I immediately fell in love with it and thought to myself ‘Oh please don’t let this be due in November.’

Naturally, I danced like a bit of an idiot around my office when I saw the submission close date. So, my Christmas came early I think, knowing that I will be working on a story during December for this project.

What fairytale will I be taking on and giving a twist to? Here’s a little clue which I’m sure ANYONE can figure out:

Alex Wolfe is going to wish three times over that he’d let those kids be.

Figure it out yet? No?

Don’t worry, all will be revealed in time.

So, this is what I will be working on for the remainder of the year. I am absolutely thrilled, excited and a little nervous about these projects but, mostly excited.

My profile for NaNoWriMo has been set up and the link is below:

I have also set up a Wattpad page where I will be posting stories to, those that perhaps do not make it into projects they were submitted to or just random ideas I may get from time to time. At the moment, Wicked Tides can be found there. I did do an earlier post on that story but you can find a link to my profile there below:

So, wish me luck for my future projects. I cannot wait to get started on them.
